Due to our current Administrator heading down south, we are now looking for a replacement to fill some pretty big shoes!
This role is part of our small Administration, Property & Procurement team that delivers exceptional business services across Maritime NZ. The purpose of this role has slightly changed and will now encompass a centralised travel service. On a day to day basis you’ll also be ordering stationery and office supplies, setting up meeting rooms and catering, dealing with internal enquiries, booking all travel requirements for MNZ staff in line with policies and procedures, reconciling and coding invoices, providing reception cover and much more!
This is a busy hands on role that requires someone who has some experience in a similar role, but most importantly has a strong customer service focus and a willing, can-do attitude. Your ability to communicate and build internal relationships within the organisation will be key, as is your willingness to go the extra mile, use your initiative and manage your time effectively.
If this sounds like the role for you we want to hear from you! Please note that we need the successful candidate to be able to start on 13th January 2014.

The successful candidate will ideally be a Master Mariner (however we will consider a Chief Engineer or marine surveyor). You will need to have an understanding of New Zealand maritime legalisation (or similar) and will preferably have auditing experience. Experience in carrying out ship inspections, ship surveys and off-shore experience is also ideal, as is an understanding of the HSE Act.
Your great interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships at all levels will ensure compliance across all commercial and recreational boating sectors and as a customer focused team player you will thrive in a challenging, diverse working environment. Excellent time management and communication skills are a must in this role.
The successful candidate will also need to have a current and clean driver’s license and be available to travel within NZ at short notice.
This is a rewarding and varied role with great career development opportunities.
