The Registrar of Ships must be notified of an address change for ships that are registered under both Part A and B of the Register.
The Registrar of Ships must be notified within 30 days after the change occurs, or as soon as practicable after that. This requirement applies to an owner, mortgagee, representative person or charterer.
Although a Part B registration lasts only five years, the registrar should be advised of any address changes during that registration period.
The ship’s registered owner needs to send Maritime New Zealand’s Registrar of Ships the following:
There is no particular form to use to provide written notice of the new address.
Where the registered owner is an individual(s), a street address is required for entry in the register.
Where the registered owner is a body corporate (company), its registered office address recorded at the New Zealand Companies Office is required. The change of address notification must be signed by a Director of the body corporate.
Postal box numbers, email addresses and telephone numbers may also be supplied for Maritime New Zealand's database, but only the street address will be entered in the register.
