Marine Protection Rules Part 100: Port Reception Facilities – oil, noxious liquid substances and garbage

Part 100 covers the provisions of adequate port waste reception facilities for ship-sourced harmful substances: oil, noxious liquid substances (chemicals) and garbage.

Part 100 gives effect to regulation 38 of Annex I, regulation 18 of Annex II and regulation 7 of Annex V of MARPOL 73/78.

Part 100 of the marine protection rules applies to:

  • The operator of the port.

Part 100 came into force on 20 August 1998.

This part was amended by Marine Protection Amendments Rules, Control of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substance in Bulk – MARPOL Revised Annex II, in 2008.

This part was most recently amended by Marine Protection Rules Various Amendments 2010, in 2011.
