How to report an accident, incident or serious harm injury to Maritime NZ
Step 1
As soon as practicable after the accident, incident or serious harm injury:
Phone the Maritime NZ Rescue Coordination Centre (RCCNZ) to let them know what happened.
Freephone: 0508 222 433.
RCCNZ has staff working 24 hours a day, seven days a week, who will record what happened.
OR
Contact the Maritime Operations Centre on VHF Channel 16 .
The Centre will immediately relay the information to RCCNZ for you.

As soon as reasonably practicable following this phone call, download and print out the appropriate accident form, complete it, and send it to RCCNZ.
