Today's search has concentrated on three areas totalling over 9000 square kilometers but has so far failed to find any sign of the missing men or their helicopter.
Up to 20 helicopters have been involved in the search.
The weather has been poor but has not disrupted the search. The search will continue today until it becomes too dark or unsafe. A decision on tomorrow's search plans will be made then.
The Rescue Coordination Centre NZ is requesting anyone who may have seen or heard a maroon-coloured helicopter in the Raetihi area and southwards on Friday to contact the Police.
