IGF Ship Endorsements/Certificate of Proficiency
Your endorsement is valid for five years and can be renewed.
With this endorsement, you can have responsibility for designated safety duties associated with the care or use of fuels on ships using low-flashpoint fuels.
Basic IGF ship endorsement
With a basic IGF ship endorsement you can have responsibility for designated safety duties associated with the care or use of fuels on ships using low-flashpoint fuels.
Advanced IGF ship endorsement
With an advanced IGF ship endorsement you can perform your privileges as a master, engineer officer or seafarer with immediate responsibility for the care and use of fuels and fuel systems on the ship. To qualify for an advanced endorsement, you must first have gained a basic IGF ship endorsement.
Certificate of proficiency for IGF Ships
This qualification is provided as an endorsement on a seafarer’s maritime certificate. However, if you do not have an appropriate certificate, the Director may issue you with a basic or advanced certificate of proficiency.
Requirements
To get the basic or advanced IGF ship endorsement, you need to prove that you meet all of the requirements.
