1These training providers are approved by the Director to issue ancillary certificates of proficiency.
2Seafarers attending ancillary refresher courses must provide the training provider with a company letter(s):
- they have actively participated in the mandatory abandon ship and fire drills (and fast rescue boat drills, if applicable) while completing
- approved seagoing service performing functions appropriate to the certificate they hold, for a period of at least:
- 12 months in total during the preceding 5 years or
- 3 months in total during the preceding 6 months
