The National Plan
The National Plan sets out how Tier 3 or national level oil spill responses are run.
Overview
The National Plan is used in conjunction with the Regional Marine Oil Spill Contingency Plans, maintained by New Zealand’s 16 regional councils and territorial authorities.
These plans identify sensitive sites and preferred response options for the most likely spill scenarios in each specific region, as well as what resources are held locally.
