Maritime NZ to investigate incident

9 July 2007

Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) will investigate an accident in which a fisherman lost four fingers on board the Sealord fishing vessel Rehua yesterday (Sunday 8 July).

Due to the seriousness of the injuries involved, MNZ will launch a full investigation once the vessel arrives back in port tomorrow (Tuesday 10 July). MNZ has been in contact with Sealord, which is conducting its own inquiries into the incident.
