Avoid high-speed collisions

Stick to 5 knots (a fast-walking speed) when you are: 

  • within 200 metres of the shore or any boat displaying a diver’s flag
  • within 50 metres of any other boat or any person who is swimming
  • when you go past a 5-knot buoy.
