Change of address notification
What you need to provide
Maritime NZ needs a street address for registration in the New Zealand Register of Ships.
We cannot use an address that is “care of “the ship, so if you are voyaging overseas you may need to use the address of a relative or friend. You can also provide postal and email addresses for our records, in addition to a street address.
To register a change of address, you must:
- email or write to Maritime NZ to tell us:
- your new street address, or registered office address if the owner is a company or other incorporated entity
- the address you would like us to send the new certificate of registry to
- return the ship’s original certificate of registry to Maritime NZ by courier.
Once we receive your information and original certificate of registry we will:
- record your new address in the Register of Ships, and
- send your new certificate of registry to you by courier.
There is no fee for updating address information in the Register.
