International voyages

Guidance for operators of commercial ships in the Maritime Operator Safety System (MOSS) proposing to undertake an international voyage to or from New Zealand.

Maritime Operator Safety System (MOSS) ships undertaking international voyages to or from New Zealand

Ships operating in MOSS intending to undertake an international voyage to or from New Zealand must comply with all applicable New Zealand regulations, including those overseen by other government agencies, for example New Zealand Customs. You also need to comply with any applicable regulations at overseas ports. It is your responsibility to check and comply with those requirements as well.
