How to change a registered owner’s address – Part B ship registration
If you change the address on your Part B certificate of registration, you must notify the Registrar of Ships at Maritime NZ as soon as possible.
This is not the same as registering a new owner. A new owner would need a new Part B registration.
What you need to do
To change the address of a registered owner in the New Zealand Register of Ships, you must:
- tell the Registrar of Ships your new address (you can do this by email or letter)
- tell the Registrar of Ships the address you want us to send the new certificate of registration to (you can do this by email or letter)
- send Maritime NZ evidence of your change of address if requested.
Once we receive and process your change of address, we will:
- update your address in the Register, and
- send your new certificate of registration to you by courier,
There is no fee for changing your address in the Register.
