How to register a ship Part B ship registration

What you need to do

To register your ship in Part B in the New Zealand Register of Ships, you must:

  • complete the Application for registration of ship (or renewal of registration) in Part B of register (form SR03)
  • if the ship has been registered in another country, obtain evidence from the foreign registry that the registration has been closed, for example a deletion certificate
  • send your completed application form and evidence of closure of any previous registration (if applicable) to Maritime NZ by email, courier, or post.
