How to close a Part B registration

If you want to close your Part B registration in the New Zealand Register of Ships, you must inform Maritime NZ.

A Part B registration ends if any of the following happens:

  • the ship is sold
  • the ownership changes in any way other than by sale
  • any of the descriptive particulars of the ship change.

If one of these events occurs, or you no longer want to keep the ship registered, email Maritime NZ at [email protected].
